"Its A Girl Thing" Turner syndrome awareness Blog Hop

February is such a busy month for me with so many loved ones celebrating their Birthdays!

This month  is also Turner syndrome awareness month. So of course I wanted to make a card to enter into the Turner syndrome Awareness Blog Hop

When I first learned about this illness it was because I started to follow a lovely, and creative woman who handmade and posted cards. As I read more of her posts I learned she was a mother of a special girl with Turner syndrome. Being a mother myself with  four children and one who also has a  special needs, Turner syndrome was something I had never heard of. You can learn more about  Lori and Julies Turner syndrome Journey by following Lori Kobular of Lori's Creations  and also heading over to
My Turner syndrome Journey

The card I created I used the Turner syndrome Fairy Digi stamp set

  by Jans Digi stamps .

I used a Jan Davenport face from her Making Faces and added the Digi butterflies for her hair. I also printed out a couple butterflies to fussy cut and add on. I watercolored details on them and added some Wink of Stella for a touch of magic. I also used the 'Girls Only symbol" and the sentiment from the TSF set.

The background is an embossing folder from Cuddle Bug and then rubbed ink on floral design. For the single butterflies that I fussy cut, I also used my detailer to add some lines and texture to the wings and to curl them to almost have them flutter off the card! I really enjoyed making this card and hope you'll take the time to read about Turner Syndrome and help sharing the Awareness!
